Hi there! My name is Sarah Perez.

Though I have always been interested in the science of food and different diets, I haven’t always implemented it. Experiencing fad diets first-hand, I realized they don’t work. After many years of experimenting on myself, I decided to get the education I needed to take the healthiest path.

What is the healthiest path? It is different for everyone. What I have found is that counting calories, carbs, protein and fat is complicated. The easiest thing to do for sustainable health is eating real food and getting some playful movement in life. That is why I became a health coach. I want to help others find wellness without the complications. With the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, I learned the “science made simple” approach. This approach has taught me how to teach others without over complicating things. Now, I teach L.E.A.N. principles. It’s all about the balance of lifestyle, exercise, attitude and nutrition.

Not only have I learned what is best for me and my family, I continue to take classes and educate myself on the current science. I love learning new things and teaching people what I have learned. I love teaching health to children, because I believe they are our future. Helping adults get to their "aha" moment is rewarding as well. This has been a passion most of my life and helping people is a great joy for me.

Sarah has been working with me as my health coach, off and on, for the past two years. To say that she has been helpful in attaining my nutritional and overall health goals would be a huge understatement. Under her care, I have not only attained but exceeded several of those goals and I know I have benefited greatly from that success. In the past, I have struggled with my weight and blood pressure along with several other medical challenges. Sarah was able to provide the knowledge and encouragement I needed to break many of the not –so-healthy-habits I had lived with for most of my life. She was able to show me how I could replace a few of those habits with much better choices. Just by controlling better what I eat and increasing my physical activity, I have been able to shed about 40 pounds and my blood pressure is within a much better range. For more years than I care to admit to, I was a Diet Coke junkie. I had tried many times to kick the habit but was never really successful. I am certain that drinking multiple sodas each and every day was a huge contributor to my blood pressure problems. With her help, I can honestly say that for many months, I am now soda free. That is something I never thought I would be able to get under control. Her knowledge of proper nutrition and what type of foods are actually good for the body, is extensive. She really knows what she is talking about and she actually applies it. In other words, she practices what she teaches. Because of her extensive training, she backs up everything she teaches with real science and not what I call “fad science”. Sarah, with her bubbly and fun personality, made me feel comfortable and at ease while at the same time provided me with the life-changing instruction I needed to improve my physical and emotional health. I believe that knowledge is power and she provided me with the “power” to take control of much of my life. I will forever be in her debt.
